EPILOGUE

Seven Weeks Later

Feng turned her body in Colin's lap and placed her cold hands against his cheeks and kissed him. She let his warm breath enter her body. Her tongue stroked against his, desperately trying to taste him one more time, before he had to leave her again.

Breaking away from her lips, Colin rested his forehead on hers and sighed.

"I have to go soon," he whispered.

"I know. Colin, I hate this. It's too dangerous. Lexis has to suspect something. And I hate to think of you with those women."

"I've not had sex with any of them since, if that helps. I can go through with Stephen's plan for the most part, but now that I've had you in my arms again, I can't do that."

"That just makes it more likely that Lexis will figure out what you're doing. It was bad enough you had to give him all that dirt on her, and dig up information from your old assignments…"

Colin tilted her face up to meet his, making her eyes meet his own.

"Feng, we've got this. Lexis doesn't suspect anything and I've still managed to get all the information I need for my new assignments. I have to be more imaginative and charming, is all. And when I'm done, I just happen to give everything to Stephen, as well as Lexis. Nothing to be worried about."

"You're a terrible liar, Colin."

"Only with you. I'm pretty awful without you," he added, his green eyes darkening with heavy worry.

She kissed him again, until his arms snaked around her waist, and together they let go of some of the immense tension in their bodies.

A knock on the door shocked them to attention. Feng grabbed her handgun from the nightstand and Colin moved to place his body in front of hers.

"It's me, Stephen," they heard through the door, and Feng relaxed slightly. Stephen had arranged for this meeting. Rain was steadily streaking across the windows of the tiny boarding house in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, where they were posing as tourists. Despite breathtaking views of the area's legendary and seemingly endless limestone monolithic islands, she and Colin had barely ventured outside once. He had barely a day to be with her, and to debrief Stephen on his last two assignments; making every second she had with him that much more precious.

It hadn't been long since they created this arrangement and the tiny stolen moments with Colin were amazing. But it didn't change how much she hated the risks he was taking — all for the chance that he'd do enough to help the U.S. government to take down Lexis's team.

This was their only chance at finally being free and together, but it was one helluva long shot.

Feng opened the door to Stephen, overcome with sadness at the knowledge this meant her time with Colin was coming to an end.

"Come in, Stephen. I guess it's time for us to get moving again?" Feng asked.

"It is, but shit just got a lot more urgent."

"Why? What happened?" Colin asked.
